Hatha
Yoga
The word
"hatha" combines two Sanskrit words: ha, which
means "the breath of the sun" (prana), and tha,
"the breath of the moon" (apana). Hatha
yoga--yoga of the body--is very popular in North America
today. In the yogic system, it plays a part in
preparing the body for meditation and for further spiritual
path.
The two major
components of hatha yoga are:
· Physical
Postures (called "Asanas" in Sanskrit); and
· Breathing Exercises (controlling and regulating the
breathing voluntary, called "Pranayam" in
Sanskrit)
The classes
are held for 90 minutes and give students the opportunity to
learn the fundamentals correctly. Right from the
start yoga is safe, enjoyable, and can create a deep sense of
wellness. Questions and concerns can be addressed
within this setting.

Kundalini
Yoga
"The
trinity of successful communication is: straight, simple, and
with a smile". Yogi Bhajan
Kundalini
Yoga, as taught by Yogi Bhajan, Ph.D., Master of Kundalini Yoga,
is the Yoga of Awareness. Kundalini Yoga consists of
simple yogic techniques that can be enjoyed by everyone, no
matter age or physical ability. It is a
complete science that includes breath (pranayam), yoga postures
(asanas), sound, chanting (mantra) and meditation.
Through
safe, centuries old techniques, Kundalini Yoga balances and then
"uncoils" energy from deep within us. It is designed
to provide you with the experience of your highest consciousness
through the raising of your Kundalini. You will feel
stronger, steadier, healthier and radiant. Most of all you will
be attuned to your true self. We can truly know ourselves.
This
is a wonderful yoga practice that is done with your eyes closed
and at your own individual pace. From your very
first class you'll start reaping the rewards. Everyone can
do it!

The
Khalsa Way - As as inspired by Yogi Bhajan and taught by
Gurumukh Kaur Khalsa and Devi Kaur Khalsa.
"Unlike Lamaze and Bradley methods, The Khalsa Way
integrates thousands of years of technology with the
latest and most innovative birthing techniques. The effect
is an improved physical stature and stamina and a
heightened mental capacity that can benefit women choosing
either home births, a birth center or hospital births. In
addition, The Khalsa Way is unique in terms of its
emphasis on community. Women celebrate together, sharing
stories and experiences. They help and support each other.
As a result, you are likely to develop friendships during
the course that will continue throughout your life.
The Khalsa Way is not simply a technique; it is a caring,
a sharing, and an invitation to experience a new and
vastly improved way of life."
