Booking Appointments
We accept appointment requests by telephone at 613.761.9642 (YOGA), email, in person and online. Your appointment is not scheduled until you receive a confirmation via e-mail or telephone. Please note we require 24 hours notice to verify an online booking request.
Arriving

Numerology is the study of the symbolism of numbers. It is used to determine a person’s personality, strengths and talents, obstacles to be overcome, inner needs, emotional reactions and ways of dealing with others.
Everything in the universe vibrates at its own particular frequency. By finding the vibration rate of any object, you can establish the qualities and energies associated with it. By applying the principles of numerology—and using only the name and birth date as the basic data—you can determine the major frequencies of different people. A numerological analysis of the calculated frequencies provides significant information on these people’s personalities and character.

Shiatsu is a unique, non-invasive therapy designed to stimulate the body’s inherent ability to heal itself. Literally translated, the Japanese word shiatsu means “finger pressure.” Shiatsu therapy involves the systematic application of manual pressure to the body in order to assess and treat a variety of conditions. Shiatsu treatments have a regulatory influence on the autonomic nervous system, thereby improving organ function and reducing muscle tension.

Lymphatic Massage

Lymphatic massage is a massage technique that is designed to stimulate the lymph’s circulation in order to speed up the removal of waste from the body. It is helpful for the nervous system as it reduces sympathetic nervous activity, allows para-sympathetic activity, stimulates the defenses of the immune system, and increases the flow and volume of the lymph fluid. The technique involves the use of gentle, rhythmic strokes and pumping movements towards the direction of the lymph nodes on the body.
Lymphatic massage is helpful for scars, stress, cellulite, stretch marks, detoxification, chronic fatigue, weight problems, arthritis, neurological disorders, pregnancy, pain, and overall wellbeing.

Swedish massage is the most popular massage in the US and Canada. It involves the use of hands, forearms and elbows to manipulate the muscles, tendons and ligaments. Active or passive movement of the joints may also be part of the massage. Swedish massage has relaxing and therapeutic effects, and can be done as light or as deep as the clients wishes. Registered Massage Therapy is covered by most extended health care plans.

Thai Yoga Massage

Thai Massage is appropriate for any and all. The practitioner customizes each massage to suit the needs of the receiver, taking into account physical limitations, injuries and emotional state. The practitioner takes the fully clothed body through a series of passive stretches and postures while applying pressure to vital energy lines found throughout the body. Thai Massage is often described as “having yoga done to you”. This work improves circulation of blood and lymph, improves energy flow and leaves the receiver feeling looser, stronger, nourished and extremely relaxed. Thai Massage is an ideal practice for all as it works on the physical and energetic layers of the body.

In a private class you have individual attention that will ensure every posture is tailored to your individual needs. Healthy Movement Therapy

Healthy Movement Therapy (HMT) is a style of yoga that will reduce the amount of pain and stress in the body and create a greater sense of relaxation. The sessions are booked in 4 to 8 weeks classes so as to build up muscle memory in the body and to rewire the brain’s ability to teach muscles to move more functionally.
What makes HMT distinct is its distinct series of movements and how each posture is performed. All HMT exercises are practiced slowly, actively and without force. The intent behind moving slowly is so a person can, with awareness, feel how the muscle contracts and relaxes, as well as recognizing other muscles that also contract to assist that specific muscle.
Because the movements in HMT are slow and deliberate, they are healing and restorative. Using these exercises, you can develop a greater awareness of how your muscles function as well as a deeper feeling of relaxation and comfort.
It is important to remember that the process of aging is an adaptive process. We learn through our experiences how to be in our bodies and anyone can use the practice of HMT to learn to be in their body in a way that is functionally healthier and more alive. This the value HMT brings to daily living.

Therapeutic Yoga

Therapeutic yoga is ideal for clients living with chronic conditions, pain or limited mobility. It is a gentle and intelligent introduction to the practice of yoga in a way that is respectful and appropriate for each body and situation and will help you to actively heal and re-educate your body in daily movement and positioning.
Each session gradually builds postural alignment and stress management skills, including traditional yoga techniques such as breathing, meditation and gentle exercises to awaken a sense of aliveness and well-being. Using supports of chair, wall, floor, pillows, cushions and other aids, this program bridges students’ yogic practice from a therapeutic approach to the more general open-level yoga classes we offer.
The private sessions allows for personalized care and are led by experienced yoga instructors with additional training and unique understanding of anatomy and appropriate posture modifications for specific pathologies and individual needs.
An initial assessment is an essential part for our greater understanding of how to attend your needs appropriately, safely and with maximized comfort. Initial assessment of each new therapeutic yoga student helps our teachers to consider the student’s specific needs in an effective and informed manner and to strategize opportunities for personalized instruction.

Usui Reiki

In a Reiki session the practitioner places their hands either lightly on or slightly above the body. The practitioner proceeds to replenish the energy lost or depleted by a variety of factors such as stress, injury, trauma, food, environmental pollutants etc. The receiver experiences a deep state of relaxation while energy and balance are restored to the physical, emotional, and energetic layers of the body, thereby bringing the body back into balance.

Sacred Childbirth with Reiki

This technique helps women to prepare themselves for the amazing journey of pregnancy and birth. The practitioner engages the receiver in open, confidential dialogue about any and all aspects of their pregnancy and anticipated birth. The practitioner then guides the release and transmutation of any energies that are not being of service to the body such as fears, anxieties, past birth trauma, physical discomfort and negativity. These frequencies are released gently using light Reiki touch and energetic techniques involving visualization and the breath.
This work makes room both energetically and physically in the body for grounded, peaceful, empowered birthing energy to flow. The receiver leaves the session feeling lighter, excited and energized with a renewed confidence in their body’s innate wisdom to bring their baby safely into the world.

Infrared Sauna Therapy + 1 Drop In Class = $38.50 + HST
Energy emitted by an infrared sauna offers an astounding range of possible therapeutic benefits and effects according to research studies conducted around the world.
Infrared saunas are ideal in their design as they operate as safer, lower temperatures compared to conventional steam-based saunas. This feature makes breathing more comfortable and is considered safer making infrared sauna therapy a better alternative for a greater variety of individuals. Although an infrared sauna operates at only 110o F to 140o F, compared to a conventional sauna which operates at 180 F to 210 F, radiant heat from an infrared sauna can help the body produce two to three times more sweat.
Radiant heat is also very therapeutic for your overall well being. It helps to support your body’s natural “defense” system to easily ward off harmful contaminates. An infrared based system can warm your body to a much greater degree and in a much more efficient manner than a conventional sauna. The energy output from the infrared sauna is primarily used to convert energy directly inside the body and not to create excessively hot air which then only superficially heats the skin. This radiant heat is absorbed by your body to a depth of over 1.5 inches below the skin. The effect will increase your heart rate and metabolism burning 300-900 calories per session. These crucial differences help to explain why the health benefits available through infrared therapy are not attainable through the use of a conventional sauna.
