When I step onto my mat, the feeling of peace starts to settle in; nothing else matters now but this very moment. It has taken time and practice to bring me here, but now that I am, I feel whole, I feel complete, I am united with my body, my breath and my mind.

One of the things Melissa loves about Yoga is that it can be practiced anywhere, anytime and by anyone; regardless of body type, age or mobility.  Many of us feel that we can’t, aren’t able, haven’t…., etc. But Yoga is not about flexibility or getting into that funky pose.  It’s about being in the moment, using our breath to create balance and awareness in ourselves.

Melissa began practicing Yoga in 2004 and fell in love with it immediately. She is constantly amazed at all the benefits it offers; creating balance, not just physically, but also mentally and emotionally.  Her passion led her to wanting to share Yoga with others.

In 2009, Melissa completed an intensive Hatha Yoga Teacher certification plus Radiant Child Yoga. She is eager to continue studying and learning by taking courses and workshops on topics such as prenatal & yoga for birthing, Yin-tensive and therapeutic yoga.

She feels fortunate to teach several styles of Yoga including Hatha beginner and intermediate, Prenatal, Parent & baby, Yin &Yang, children and teens, and partner yoga.

A new journey has begun for Melissa with the recent birth of her son, and now teaching partner, Brendan!

Her classes reflect her enthusiastic and playful spirit.
