Nature brings reminders of new
beginnings when winter changes to spring. We can work with the
change of seasons to find new growth in our own lives. Try
this simple practice -- it takes only a few minutes but is
surprisingly powerful.
1. On a spring day,
choose a place in nature that is enjoyable to you. It could be
your backyard or a park.
2. Close your eyes and
take a moment to feel winter -- the cold air, the stillness.
Think of any situation in your life that has felt like
winter.
3. Keeping your eyes closed, imagine it
is spring -- there is a warmer breeze, trees are budding and
leaves are opening. Where in your life would you like to have
new opportunities?
4. Take a deep breath and
open your eyes.
5. Take a short walk and decide
on one simple thing you can do to help encourage new
opportunities or growth in your life. When you get home, do
it.
