Spring detox

By Alison Finney

How can I spring-clean my body?

The weather is warming up and it's time to throw open our windows and roll up our sleeves for some serious cleaning in our homes and gardens. But we can also spring-clean our bodies of toxic materials that have accumulated during the winter months.

There are ways to know if the body is in need of detoxifying. Signs of toxic overload include fatigue, illness, constipation, gas, skin problems, nausea, PMS, depression and poor circulation.

The main way to rid the body of toxins is through cleansing or detoxifying. Detoxification involves a change in diet and health habits to promote body purification, allowing for the channels of elimination to get rid of toxic waste. A cleansing diet may help along with herbal and nutritional support. Your doctor, naturopath or homeopath can offer suggestions on the best way for you to cleanse your body.
