Footbath for headache relief

By Alison Finney

Can you suggest a homemade cure for my throbbing headache?

The following is an excellent headache remedy, but the key to relief is to use cold water. Soaking your feet in cold water draws blood from your head and brings immediate relief for some headaches.

• 2 tablespoons sea salt
• 4 drops lavender essential oil
• 2 drops peppermint essential oil

Using a bowl that’s large enough to hold both feet, fill it halfway with cold water.

Mix sea salt with oils, add mixture to the water and stir with your hands.

Sit comfortably, soaking both feet in the cold aromatic water for 15 minutes.

Concentrate on breathing slowly and deeply, and relax your headache away.
