Do you rush to eat your meals and
then find yourself bloated and uncomfortable? Here are 5 ways
to improve your digestion.
1. Chew your
food. Digestion actually begins in your mouth. Take
smaller bites and thoroughly chew each bite of
food.
2. Drink water. Constipation often
happens when we don't drink enough fluids.
3.
Increase your fibre intake. An apple a day really does
work. Flaxseeds
can also help and can easily be sprinkled on your morning
cereal or a salad (it's best to grind them
first).
4. Eat in the moment. Taste and
savour your food. Eat in beautiful surroundings. Try not to
eat and work at the same time.
5. Watch for food
allergies and sensitivities. Food sensitivities are the
cause of many digestive problems. Consult with a specialist to
determine if you have a food sensitivity or
allergy.
It's easy to forget how important it is to
slow down when you eat. By taking a few extra minutes during
your meal, you'll improve your digestive habits -- and get the
most out of the foods you eat.
