How can I get rid of discomfort in my back
and shoulders after sitting for
hours?
Moving your shoulders is one of the
best things you can do for your back if you've been sitting in
the same position for a while. Here are two easy exercises you
can do while sitting at your desk:
1. Sitting
upright, inhale and lift your shoulders to your ears. Exhale
as you slowly roll your shoulders around and back, dropping
them away from your ears. Continue shoulder rolls four more
times, alternating forward and back.
2. Next,
inhale as you lift both shoulders up to the ears. Exhale as
you release them down. Repeat five times and then relax your
shoulders.
These movements relieve tension in your
upper back and shoulders. Try them several times throughout
your day.
